Name: Fred Knapp
Company/Position: CORE Construction / Vice President Tucson
As the Vice President of CORE Constructions Tucson Division, my main focus is Client Services, such as cultivating client relationships and ensuring future work. It is my responsibility to make sure that all deliverables are met from Pre-Construction through Warranty.
I’ve been with the ABA now for 14 years! I joined back in 2008 at the direction of my CFO. It was truly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It put me in the same room with the General Contractors and Subcontractors I had admired and looked up to in the previous 30 years of my existence in Commercial Contracting.
Some of the best benefits that ABA provides are resources and training, which aid our staff and subcontractors to work more efficiently and effectively. In addition to also being able to stand shoulder to shoulder with my peers – together we are tackling some of the same issues we are all facing in this industry. This business is like a brotherhood, which garners trust and friendship. Not only with my clients, but also my peers. The Lord has blessed me with a job I enjoy and to work with people that I respect and love. I am very grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ.
Some of my greatest professional achievements include having owned Knapp Construction for 30 years, being an Associate Pastor of the Apostolic Christian Church of Tucson, being a Past Southern AZ Chairman of the ABA – Tucson Chapter, being a Past Chairman- Better Business Bureau- Tucson, having graduated from the ABA’s Senior Executive Program, and being part of various other Boards and Committees. Personally, I have been married for 39 years to my wonderful wife Lisa, who has raised are four sons who are all well respected in the community.
In my free time, I really enjoy putting my tools on and working at my various children’s homes. I also like staying active by hiking in the mountains and traveling with my wife.
The philosophy that I live by is simply my mission: It is to honor God in all I do and say. I can only do this because of the grace he avails me.
