About The Program
The Project Manager Development Program (PMDP), created by AGC of America, is designed to specifically meet the needs of the construction industry.
What You Will Learn

Unit 1 | Introduction to Project Management
An overview of the soft and technical skills every project manager needs, including communication, organization, and decision-making. The unit also introduces key concepts in construction law and the project manager’s responsibilities, along with the fundamentals of project safety.

Unit 2 | Initiating and Planning [Part 1]
Covers the first two project management process groups: Initiating and Planning. Participants learn how to identify stakeholders, define project objectives, create a Project Charter, select delivery methods, and develop a clear Project Scope. The unit concludes with an introduction to building a project management plan and schedule.

Unit 3 | Initiating and Planning [Part 2]
Covers the first two project management process groups: Initiating and Planning. Participants learn how to identify stakeholders, define project objectives, create a Project Charter, select delivery methods, and develop a clear Project Scope. The unit concludes with an introduction to building a project management plan and schedule.

Unit 4 | Executing
Introduces the Executing process group with a focus on contract management. Participants learn how contracts are created, reviewed, and managed, as well as the differences between contractors and subcontractors. The unit also covers project billing, contract termination, and effective implementation of the project plan.

Unit 5 | Monitoring and Controlling and Project Closeout
Covers the Monitoring and Controlling and Closing process groups. Topics include managing changes, documenting impacts, resolving disputes, maintaining quality, and overseeing change orders. The unit concludes with the full closeout process, including administrative and contract closure, owner communication, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
